Light and Sound Mind Meditation Assistance Systems
What is a Brainwave Synchronizer?
A Brainwave Synchronizer is a Light and Sound device used to control brainwave frequencies and patterns, to achieve specific objectives. These objectives typically include;
- relaxation
- sleep induction
- improved ability to learn
- improved memory
- reaching altered states of consciousness normally only achievable through advanced meditation techniques
- being less anxious and nervous
- being able to handle high pressure situations more easily
We stock a number of light and sound meditation systems (aka brain synchronizers) to aid you amongst other things in your meditation experience. Using sound and light entrainment, these systems are able to safely lower the speed of your brain waves to theta and delta states, where you are more easily able to achieve access to altered states of consciousness. In addition to this, these systems are able to assist you in quietening the mind chatter that so often steers us away from good meditative practice. There are some programs that train you in being focused and more attentive, and others that adjust your mood state from negative to a more positive mind set. Some people use these systems to better educate themselves whereas others use them simply to enjoy the wow factor experience that these systems bring on.
"My son was getting poor gradings at school, and there seemed little we could do to to improve his learning ability. We purchased a brain synchronizer system, and instead of asking him to do the dishes each evening, we asked him to do an accelerated learning program. We notice over several months changes in his gradings for the positive, and after 3 years he was the dux of his school. He now runs his own robotics company and has a multimillion dollar contract with NASA. I put his progressive development down to the brain synchronizer." A. Larking, Adelaide, Australia
DEVELOP AND EVOLVE YOUR CONSCIOUSNESS WITH EASE .....
Typically a brainwave synchronizer works on the principle of entrainment, whereby the light and sound device creates an oscillating frequency which the brain starts to follow after a period of around 5-6 minutes. When the lights and sound from the synchronizer pulse at the speed of normal brainwaves when a session begins, they quickly synchronize. Your brainwaves will then follow as the light and sound stimulation shifts into the frequencies of another mind state. This is called the frequency following effect, or entrainment. The scientific term when lights are used for this is usually Photic Driving.
Each pulse of the stimulation being used must evoke enough of a response from the brain in order for entrainment to be effective. This response by the brain from sensory stimulation is called cortical evoked response. This can happen from any type of sensory stimulation, but the most effective means of doing this is through light and sound combined.
Sound has a very small effect on brainwaves when used alone, and shifting a mindstate effectively requires more than stimulation from sound at a sustained frequency.
The brainwave synchronizer uses complex pulse patterns of light and sound that years of research show are best for the brainwave frequency following effect.
To get a better understanding on how the brainwave synchronizer works, lets have a look at brainwave basics.
Brainwave Basics
Using electroencephalography, we are able to record the electrical activity in the brain which results from the firing of neurons in the brain. The diagram to the right shows a typical electroencephalogram graph taken from an EEG machine showing various frequencies and modulations, or brainwaves.
It has been shown that there will always be a predominant speed where most of these waves synchronize. The speed of a brainwave is called a frequency - this frequency is measured in Hertz (Hz). Scientists who first measured these waves found that they were connected to mind states. Brainwaves have been divided into four predominant speed ranges, or types. Brainwave types are connected to different mind states, or states of consciousness.
Each brainwave type contains smaller bands relating to specific functions of body and mind. Some complex mental states relate to specific frequencies that repeat in patterns. There are also mind/body processes connected to single frequencies.

A typical session on one of the brainwave synchronizers will start at beta, and will then work its way down as low as a Theta or even a Delta state, depending on the objective so desired (e.g., wanting to feel relaxed or creative). It will then finish off by taking you back to the Beta state. In as little as 15 minutes, you can be taken close to a sleep state, and then be fully alert at the end of that session but without the stress you may have been feeling. |
Brainwave Synchronizers
Our range of Brainwave Synchronizers are the best value in light/sound mind machines available today due to their low price and rich set of features. They will provide many hours of rewarding use.
Each of the Brainwave Synchronizers are incredibly sturdy, conveniently small, ergonomic, and very easy to use. All you need to do is power the unit on, choose one of the preset sessions, put on the headphones and lite frames, and close your eyes. The session will guide you into other mental states by stimulating your senses with special patterns of sound and synchronized lights. You will be instantly transported to a profound state of relaxation.
In your minds eye you'll see patterns of shapes dancing to thick washes and pulses of sound. These special combinations of flickering light and sound are having an effect on your brainwaves. Geometric patterns shape-shift and color cycle while guiding you through the session toward the mind state you desire.
Your stress from the day is released as your brainwaves begin following the frequencies you are perceiving. The frequencies used in Brainwave Synchronizer sessions mimic those found in brainwaves during activities like meditation, dreaming, and deeply focused concentration. You experience and feel these states as your brainwaves synchronize to the lights and sound. Your brain begins producing more theta and alpha waves, and less beta waves - what we have during busy and scattered thinking throughout the day.
Brainwave Synchronizers are designed for people who are looking for a powerful light and sound mind machine. Even with the low prices, they are still packed with features. Read about each one individually below.
Binaural Beats
A binaural beat is generated from two tones. Each tone is of a slightly different pitch. One tone is presented to the left ear, and the other to the right. The two tones combine into a single tone sensed by your brain. This single tone pulse is the stimulation when entraining with binaural beats.
Binaural beats are probably the most well-known stimulus used for entrainment. They have been shown to work, but some of the other audio entrainment techniques are more effective. Brainwave Synchronizers produces binaural beats, dual binaural beats and other audio entrainment methods.
Are Brainwave Synchronizers Safe for Everyone to Use?
No. If you plan to order the Brainwave Synchronizer, please make sure you are not sensitive to strobe effects. Make sure that you do not allow others who may be photo sensitive to use your machine.
Brainwave Synchronizers have been used for years - thousands of people have yielded their benefits. However, if you are sensitive to light or have PhotoSensitive Epilepsy, then the Brainwave Synchronizer is not for you. It is possible for a Brainwave Synchronizer to cause seizures in these individuals in the same way that oscillating lights or 'strobe' lights can. If you, or anyone else who shares your machine are using a pacemaker, suffering cardiac arrhythmia or other head disorders, on tranquilizers or psychotropic medicines, have epilepsy or visual photosensitivity, the Brainwave Synchronizer should be avoided.
